We are the official Faculty Society serving and representing students of the UWA Conservatorium of Music.
Throughout your time at the Con, the MSS will be there every step of the way.
Education
The MSS advocates for students in course-related disputes between the music student body and Conservatorium staff. In addition, we run events that enrich your educational experience and help to open doors in your future career.
Social
The MSS is the hub of campus life for many students here at the Con. We organise a ton of social events every year to bring musos together, creating a close-knit and safe community for all lovers of music at UWA.
Concerts
The MSS holds a number of performances over the course of the year that run alongside the Con’s own concert series. We provide opportunities for students to showcase skills and repertoire that may not be as well-represented in their courses.
Welfare and Equity
The MSS embraces our community’s diversity, and we understand the stresses and hardships faced by music students. We have a strong tradition of promoting student welfare and equity, and strive to ensure a discrimination-free environment for all our members.
Sports
The MSS knows that staying healthy is important for every musician, but recognises that doing so is also difficult for many. We therefore form social sports teams so that our members can not only keep fit, but also de-stress and have fun with friends.
Representation
The MSS fights for and represents the interests of music students in the UWA Student Guild. Our Committee members sit in a number of Guild councils, including the Education Council, the Societies Council, and the Women’s Council.
